Have your say on our draft Stakeholder Engagement Strategy

The Office of the Implementation Monitor (OIM) is seeking feedback on its draft Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.

The Strategy will guide how the OIM builds relationships, listens to different perspectives and works with people and organisations. We want to understand what meaningful participation looks like to different people, how they would like to connect with the Implementation Monitor, and what we can do to make these interactions safe, accessible and purposeful.

Your feedback will help us strengthen our approach and refine the Strategy before it is finalised.

About the draft Strategy

The Implementation Monitor’s work relies on understanding different perspectives and experiences of how child safety reforms are being implemented and felt in practice in Tasmania. Listening to people and learning from their experiences helps inform our monitoring, appraisal, evaluation and reporting, and supports the Implementation Monitor to hold the Government accountable for implementing the reforms it has committed to.

Since the OIM was established, we have met with a range of people and begun building important relationships. We want to build on these connections, continue to improve our work and ensure our approach remains purposeful, respectful and responsive to the needs of the people and organisations we work with.

The draft Strategy sets out how the OIM intends to strengthen its approach to engagement. It explains why we seek people's perspectives, what we want to achieve, and what people can expect when they share their experiences, knowledge and views with us.

The draft Strategy aims to provide a consistent approach while recognising that people have different experiences, needs and preferences. It will guide how we build relationships, provide opportunities for people to contribute to our work, and communicate how their input has been considered.

We are seeking feedback to help ensure the Strategy reflects stakeholders’ expectations and identifies practical ways we can improve our approach.

  • Meaningful participation: What would a meaningful and worthwhile interaction with the Implementation Monitor and OIM look like for you?
  • Our proposed approach: Does the draft Strategy reflect what you would expect from the OIM when it comes to listening to and people and working with them? Does it clearly explain how we consider people's experiences and perspectives to inform our work?
